Installing JungleDisk Desktop in Ubuntu 11.10

After I upgraded from Ubuntu 11.04 to Ubuntu 11.10 I got the following error when running junglediskdesktop:

junglediskdesktop: error while loading shared libraries: libnotify.so.1: cannot open 
shared object file: No such file or directory

To fix this issue you will need to make sure that libnotify4 is installed on your system and then create a symbolic link for the necessary library.  Here are the instruction to do this from the terminal window.

How to install Google Chrome in Ubuntu 11.10

If you have just upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 and you are like me you will not be able to get Google Chrome installed.  Here is the process that I found that worked for me to get Chrome installed.

Ubuntu 11.10 and ATI Mobility Radeon 5000

I recently upgraded my HP Pavalion dv6 laptop from Ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 and have run into all kinds of issues with the ATI Graphics Card that comes with the laptop. This has been causing me a lot of issues as the Additional ATI Drivers downloaded via Ubuntu work ok in Unity but don't work at all in Gnome 3.  To get the graphics card to work in both Unity and in Gnome 3 I decided to manually install the latest ATI Catalyst Drivers for Linux which can be found here.
