Rope Swing at Haw River
We went for a hike this weekend on the Haw River in North Carolina. As we were walking down the trails we came across a few college guys drinking some beer and having a lot of fun with this old rope swing.

Where on the Haw River is this?

The rope swing is off of the Haw River trail that starts by the damn. The swing is actually down the trail off of the river. The trail loops around at the end, and the swing is off of that loop.
To get there go down 15/501 from Chapel Hill going towards Pittsboro. Off of 15/501 there is a big area right before you cross over the Haw River to park. You park you car and walk down to where the damn is and then follow the trail to your right.
It looks like a lot of fun. The guys that were out there that day doing it were swinging pretty far out into the river.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Hey,
I searched your whole page and couldn't figure out a way to contact you, so I guess I'll resort to a comment section.
I was looking for directions to this rope swing, and I'm glad you posted them! They're the only ones I could find on the internet.
I looked at the images, and really liked the slick "lightbox" and effects. Is it a plugin compatable with Wordpress? If so, do you know where I can find it? Thanks

David,
I apologize for taking so long to respond to your post, things have been a little crazy around work lately.
The lightbox effect can be found at the http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2 website. It is a great script.
If you would like to incorporate it into Wordpress there seems to be a plguin that you can install that uses the Lightbox 2 javascript files. You can
checkout that plugin at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/lightbox-2
I hope that you had fun at the rope swing.
