Gmail Contacts

I love using good old GMail for all of my email needs. Well today I was trying to create a new contact and nothing showed up for me. It appears that the new version of contacts does not work in Firefox. What a bummer. I had to use the old version of the GMail client, which can be accessed at the top right of the page, to enter in contacts.

I did go into IE, which I just despise using, and the new contacts piece is just awesome. I love the way that the new contacts are organized.

I now find it very easy to see your saved contacts because of the list that is displayed in the middle column. Also I find it much easier to add contacts to your address book. The form that they use has been improved 10 fold from the old version. It also seems that Google has added a lot more custom information that can be added for a contact, like yahoo chat clients and such.

I hope that Google gets the contacts piece working in Firefox soon, I don’t want to be stuck either using the old version of GMail to add my contact information or dare I say it, use IE for viewing GMail.

UPDATE
I logged into GMail today and got a error about MonkeyScript might be messing up the new version of gmail. I went to the help link, and Google says that the Firefox Better GMail plugin will screw with the new version of GMail and that you need to upgrade to Better GMail 2.0. I did the update and uninstalled the Better Gmail plugin. Now the contacts are working great.
